Prof. Dora Mbanya Meets Administrative, Medical Authorities

Within the framework of missions to supervise devolved services of the National Blood Transfusion Service, the General Manager Prof. Dora Mbanya was in Douala, Littoral region from 15 to 16 May 2024. Accompanied by Dr. Nguini Sandrine, Mrs Bavoua Simone Merveille and Mrs. Bidjecke Ndongo Michelle, representatives of the NBTS in the Littoral, the General Manager visited blood banks of the Military, Laquintini and Bonasama hospitals, where she nodded with satisfaction at the efforts made to have stocks of blood ready to serve patients. The Director of the Military Hospital, Colonel, Prof. Koki Godefroy appreciated the GM for stopping by to inspect while promising to work in accordance with the standards expected by the NBTS. Over at Laquintini, the issue of constant power outages was tabled as being the sole cause for the malfunctioning of some equipment, while at the Bonasama hospital, the head of the laboratory decried the absence of reliable information network to help find blood pints for patients in need.

The GM was received in audience by Dieudoné Ivaha Diboa, Governor of the Littoral who promised to accompany the NBTS when needed and also gave the NBTS the opportunity to sensitize the population on 20 May at the ceremonial ground on the importance of donating blood to save lives. Other stakeholders met by the NBTS General Manager included the President of the Regional council, Banlog Polycarpe, the Regional Delegate of Public Health Dr. Bidjang Robert, head of the regional Fund for health promotion as well as regional heads of SOPECAM and CRTV.
