Members of the pioneer executive bureau of the Association of Blood Donors, dubbed "Abassadoneur," comprising staff of the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) were installed during Labour Day celebrations on 1 May 2025. The association aims to advocate for blood donation and promote its importance.

Prof. Dora Mbanya, General Manager commended the initiative, emphasizing the need for collaboration to achieve common goals. The association's duties include informing and sensitizing the population on blood donation, recruiting and retaining donors, and promoting ethical values.

Association President Mbang Wilfried pledged the team's commitment and devotion to carrying out their duties. With this installation, NBTS takes a significant step towards fostering a culture of voluntary blood donation and ensuring a stable blood supply.

The Labour Day celebration at NBTS was filled with joy and camaraderie. The chairperson of the Management Committee Prof. Tetanye Ekoe joined staff of the Service to commemorate this year’s Labour Day under the theme "Social Dialogue and Decent Work for a Peaceful Cameroon."
